Hermeneutics System is a software step sequencer which includes several customized features developed based on specifications by Christopher Ledger.
The instrument has 8 identical modules that include:
- Sampler
- Line sequencer (16 steps, 2 memory patterns)
- Low frequency oscillator
- Sources of uncertainty (sou), loosely inspired by Doepfer Module A-149-1
- Bernoulli gate
- Envelope generator (ADSR)
